The archetypal idea of the hero's journey, as one of the most widely used archetypal ideas, has always been a pioneer in understanding and receiving the intratextual and extratextual strains of traditional narratives. The present research has tried to investigate the archetype of the hero's journey based on Joseph Campbell's opinions in Kurdish folk tales. For this purpose, the Haft Baradar folk tale (Malek Ahmed) was chosen as an example and by showing the archetypes and stages of the hero's journey in this tale, we have generalized the research results to other similar folk tales in Kurdish oral literature. The results of the research show that firstly, the hero's journey archetype can be represented in Kurdish folk tales in terms of personality archetypes and the stages of the hero's journey in all three levels of departure, process and return, and Joseph Campbell's seventeen-stage model is completely applicable. It will be based on these stories. Secondly, as a part of Iranian oral culture and literature and as a neglected capacity, Kurdish folk tales deserve to be available to researchers in written form to be tested with structural approaches.
