In his work History of Kurdish Literature, Alaaddin Sajadi endeavors to establish a foundational framework for researchers in Kurdish literature, elucidating the unique experiences of the Kurdish “volks Geist.” In the “Kurd and Philosophy” section, Sajadi presents key issues concerning philosophy, the relationship between philosophy and literature, the origins of philosophy, and the concept of “Kurdish philosophy,” all of which merit further reflection. Given that this text represents a Kurdish author's first significant engagement with philosophy in the Kurdish language, it warrants thorough analysis and exploration. This paper employs a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach to contextualize Sajadi’s thought and examine his perspectives on literature and philosophy, reinterpreting the discussed section within the framework of Sajadi’s “Cultural Project.” Furthermore, through a hermeneutic lens, the author seeks to illuminate two distinct interpretations of the concept of beginnings in Sajadi’s text, emphasizing the potential emergence of philosophy within Kurdish rationality. The central question guiding this investigation is: What is Sajadi’s approach to the interplay between philosophy and literature, and why does he feel compelled to address philosophy and “Kurdish philosophy” within a narrative focused on the history of literature?
