Ecocriticism explores the relationship between humans and the environment through the lens of literature, focusing on how literary works address environmental issues. Eco-critics analyze texts that highlight these concerns, as doing so enriches literary enjoyment and significantly influences readers' attitudes toward the environment. This study examines the poetry of Sherko Bekas, a contemporary Kurdish poet, through an eco-centric approach employing content analysis. It seeks to reveal the poet's relationship with nature and the reciprocal effects of the environment on his emotions and intellect. The findings indicate that Bekas exhibits varied responses to his surroundings. In addition to addressing human issues, he emphasizes environmental themes, advocating for ecological preservation and critiquing the discriminatory practices of environmentalists. Bekas perceives the Earth’s biosphere and all its inhabitants, including humans, as interconnected, reflecting a deep ecological perspective that aligns with themes of environmental justice and ecofeminism prevalent in his work. He skillfully employs innovative symbols and metaphors drawn from nature to highlight human issues.
