Ecocriticism is one of the contemporary approaches which studies the relationship between literature and environment. In ecocriticism the kind of human's relation with nature is investigated. Ecocritics attempt to study literary works which are primarily concerned with environment. The specification of the environmental concerns in the poetry of great popular poets not only grants pleasure but also affects readers' appreciation of those works. To this end, the current research set out to analyse Shirko Bikas' poerty (1940-2013), the contemporary Kurdish poet, in terms of ecocritical principles and assumptions and content analysis of some of his poems and specify his tendency towards nature, the effects of environment on his emotions and intellect. The findings indicate that the poet exhibits different reactions towards his environment. Shirko has paid close attention to both human and environment issues. His support for environment, on the one hand, and his critique of pro-environment people's discriminatory behavior on the other hand are remarkable. He considers the environment and the globe as a whole, which, in turn, reveals his awareness of the necessity of environmental justice and ecofeminism in his poetry. In order to highlight human issues ,Shirko Bikas has aptly employed natural elements as symbols and metaphors in a novel way.
