The concepts of identity and self-redefinition are central to children's psychological and philosophical development, shaping their self-awareness and social acceptance. This study examines the book I Am Not a Pink Panther from a philosophical perspective, exploring how stories can serve as powerful tools for fostering critical thinking in children. The narrative follows a pink panther dissatisfied with its imposed appearance and identity, attempting to change its color to establish a new sense of self. However, society continues to recognize and judge it based on its previous identity. This research first analyzes the notions of personal and social identity from a child’s perspective, investigating the protagonist’s struggles with self-acceptance and the challenges posed by societal expectations and cultural norms. It then explores the psychological and ontological impact of social labels and imposed identities on children, emphasizing the role of philosophy education in fostering self-awareness and empowering them to embrace their true identity. The findings indicate that introducing philosophy to children can be an effective approach to cultivating critical thinking, enhancing self-acceptance, and building resilience against social pressures. This study highlights the significance of philosophical education in helping children develop a deeper understanding of self, challenge societal labels, and embrace their authentic identity, ultimately fostering both stability and adaptability in the face of imposed norms.
