The relationship between women and nature, and their shared subordination within systems of domination, is a central concern of ecofeminism. The representation of women and nature in literary works can establish a meaningful connection between literature and ecofeminist thought. Using a qualitative approach and drawing on library-based and documentary research, the present study explores the representation of women and nature in selected works by two contemporary Kurdish and Persian male poets, Sherko Bekas and Reza Barahani, to examine how they portray women and nature in relation to artistic expression and social progress. The findings indicate that Sherko Bekas portrays women through vivid images drawn from nature and considers their presence essential to the cycle of reproduction and life. In Reza Barahani’s poems, women are represented through more multilayered and sequential imagery, with corporeality playing a prominent role in the relationship between women and the earth. Although the representation of women and nature as exploited by male-dominated systems has been examined in the works of female artists, this imagery in male-authored texts should not be overlooked, as male artists’ perspectives can also contribute to the advancement of ecofeminist goals.
